Jeugdkoor Waelrant is een dynamisch en warm jongerenkoor dat openstaat voor iedereen die zich voluit wil engageren. De sterke vriendschap en open sfeer binnen de groep vertalen zich op het podium in een homogene klank en bezielde, expressieve optredens. Hun repertoire is grensverleggend en gevarieerd: van renaissance tot hedendaags, en van klassiek tot folk en pop.

• Top 20 Wereldwijd: Momenteel op plaats 13 van de Interkultur-wereldranglijst.

• Internationale Awards:

  • 2025: Grote winnaar Vox Lucensis (Lucca, Italië) met winst in Musica Sacra, Jeugdkoren en de Grand Prix.

  • 2024: Eerste prijs Summa cum Laude (98%) op het EMJ Neerpelt.

  • 2023: Europees Kampioen op de European Choir Games (Norrköping, Zweden) en gastkoor op het gerenommeerde EFJC in Basel.

  • 2021: Dubbel goud tijdens de World Choir Games Flanders.

• Binnenlands succes: Sinds 2007 vaste waarde in de hoogste ere-afdeling van het Provinciale Koortornooi Antwerpen (laatste herbevestiging met felicitaties van de jury). Tweevoudig finalist Koor van het Jaar (publieks- en Klara/Canvas-prijs).

The Waelrant Youth Choir is a dynamic and welcoming youth choir open to anyone willing to fully commit. The strong friendships and open atmosphere within the group translate onto the stage as a homogeneous sound and deeply passionate, expressive performances. Their repertoire is broad and adventurous, spanning from the Renaissance to contemporary music, and from classical to folk and pop.

  • 2025: Overall winner at Vox Lucensis (Lucca, Italy), sweeping the awards for Musica Sacra, Mixed Youth Choirs, and the Grand Prix.
