LA BIOCHORISTA – 20h00 at LA BIOMISTA - Genk
“LA BIOCHORISTA” a unique symbiosis between La BIOMISTA, nature & heavenly choral sounds.
During a fairytale evening walk in the twilight of this beautiful park, the public is surprised by the heavenly sounds of 6 international top choirs.
Moreover, this concert gives the listener the unique opportunity to discover LABIOMISTA at dusk.

18:00pm: Workshop with Paul Smith
Paul Smith will rehearse 2 songs with an occasional choir. Together with Apollo5, these singers will perform the songs at the end of the concert. Places are limited; so signing up quickly is the message!

10.30 am - 12.30 pm: "Rainbow Choir" workshop:
Nothing more fun than learning or improving the Flemish language through cool simple Flemish songs. Together with RIMO and the Rainbow Choir, we will work out a course from March 2024 with a fun final session during the festival. The workshop will be led by Jonas Van Esch.
Jonas plays accordion and sings songs that everyone knows and can sing along to. With his years of experience in all possible contexts, he knows how to adapt his repertoire to any situation without any problem.
Do not expect an accordionist sitting in a corner playing, but an enthusiastic musician who plays among (and with) the audience, providing recognisable songs & melodies, humour and entertainment. There's nothing more fun than singing together, you'll soon notice. And if you want to do a dance, that's definitely among the possibilities too.
Participation is FREE.
16:00 - 18:00: "Rise up" workshop - pop choir:
For whom?
Active: If you are between 15 and 25 years young and would like to experience what it feels like to dance and sing along in a top show choir, then this is the perfect workshop for you.
Passive: would you like to start a show choir OR do you already have some experience but want more. If you just want to experience a show rehearsal, then this workshop is highly recommended.

This workshop takes place at the Theatre.
A ‘show’-what? Simply a choir that is a treat for - yes - the eye!
The show choir is not just choir, it is so much more: we sing, dance with refined choreography, we sparkle, shine and give our talents every opportunity to develop. The singing is very important, but so is the visual aspect. Everyone on stage sings as well as dances. No separate dance group, no separate choir. No, the choir brings the show at the same time.
Karin Lauwers, founder and leader of the pop choir Rise Up and dance coachr Sander Camps take us into the world of pop choirs and especially show choirs.

Bernie Sherlock and Stojan Kuret, both judges of the International Choral Competition, will introduce you to the finest choral music from their countries' rich repertoire in a workshop.
With their vast musical baggage and experience, they are among the leading choral conductors in the international choral world. A unique opportunity to be introduced to some distinguished choral works from the past as well as contemporary Irish and Slovenian choral literature under the direction of these two top conductors.
An ideal workshop for the conductor looking for new or unusual choral repertoire, a fascinating workshop for the choral singer who would like to surprise his or her conductor with wonderfully refreshing choral music.
