The history of Dábrlíbap began in 2011 at a high school in Prague, Czech Republic. What started as a high school choir later transformed, in 2015, into an independent ensemble of young adults united by their shared passion for singing and friendship. Dábrlíbap has been led by Filip Beneš since 2015, and its repertoire consists mainly of modern pieces from the 20th century, folk song arrangements, and choral adaptations of popular music.

Dábrlíbap has participated in several competitions in the Czech Republic. It received gold awards at the Festival sborového umění Jihlava in 2016 and 2017, as well as at the international competitive festival of popular choral music Jirkovský písňovar in 2016 and 2022. In 2023, Dábrlíbap won the Chamber Choirs category at the Varsovia Cantat festival. It also won the Chamber Choir & Vocal Ensembles of Mixed Voices category, receiving a silver diploma at the international choir competition Riga Sings 2025.
